Passmore Inherits Victory at Outlaw Motor Speedway

OKTAHA, Okla. (June 27, 2008) - Jamie Passmore took advantage of Mike Goodman's misfortune on Friday night and used it to win the OCRS Sprint Series A Main at Outlaw Motor Speedway.
Goodman was sporting a straightaway lead over Passmore and appeared headed for a second straight victory when the yellow waved on lap 19 for Ron Paris, Jr. who got into the wall in turn three. While pacing the field under yellow Goodman came to a stop on the front straightaway. The defending champion was pushed to the pits with engine problems leaving Passmore to inherit the lead. Passmore had no trouble leading the final seven laps to win his fourth feature of the season. Danny Smith took over second and started closing the gap between himself and Passmore after thr restart. Following a lap 22 yellow Smith was almost in range to challenge Passmore as time ran out. Dean Drake, Jr. edged Matt Sherrell by half a car length for third and Cody Cordell rounded out the top five.
The 25-lap main got started with Goodman driving off the outside front row for the early lead over Shawn McClelland who started sixth. Goodman quickly opened up a two-turn lead and by lap eight was in lapped traffic. Meanwhile Passmore was working toward the front and challenged McClelland on lap 11. Passmore got by a lap later and chased after Goodman until the yellow on lap 19 brought an end to Goodman's run.
Goodman was credited with a 20th place finish and fell to third in points as Sherrell took over second on the strength of his fifth place finish.
