Passmore, Larkin Top OCRS Double Header at Creek County

KELLYVILLE, Okla. (May 10, 2008) - Jamie Passmore and Roy Larkin each picked up a feature victory in the first ever OCRS winged/ non-winged double header Saturday night at Creek County Speedway.

However it was Larkin who went home with the $1,700 first place money as the overall winner. Larkin finished fourth in the opening winged A feature then came back to win the non-wing main event. Passmore, who won the winged feature only finished tenth in the non-wing 'A' for a fifth place overall finish. Mike Goodman earned the second place check of $1,000 with a third place winged finish and a fourth in the non-wing.

Twenty-nine drivers signed-in for the duel program that carried a $9,600 purse. A complete show with wings on was run and was counted as a regular points show. Following intermission another complete points show was run but this time without wings. The points from both shows was totaled with the purse paid on the overall finish.

In the winged 25-lap feature Passmore raced into the lead at the halfway flags and put a straightaway between himself and second place Matt Sherrell on the way to his third victory of the season. Goodman, Larkin and  Rafe Essary rounded out the top five.
Goodman raced into the early lead from his outside front row starting position with pole sitter Larkin right behind and Passmore in third. After a lap nine yellow for Evan Sewell Passmore moved around Larkin for second and challenged Goodman for the lead two laps later. Passmore passed Goodman in turn three of lap 12 for the lead just before Goodman spun. Goodman stayed on the gas and continued to avoid a yellow flag. Sherrell moved into second followed by Larkin and Goodman holding on to fourth.On lap 14 Goodman charged around Larkin for third and stayed their to the finish.

Larkin started inside second row in the non-wing 25-lapper and drove into the lead after only five laps. Larkin paced the field the remaining 20 laps for his first OCRS victory.
Cody Cordell led the first four laps before the red flag waved for a turn four crash that saw Nigel Calvert upside down. Larkin took advantage of the restart to grab the lead followed by Danny Smith. Brian Parker held on to third for his best OCRS finish. But was disqualified in a post-race inspection. That gave Goodman third place. A red flag also waved on lap 14 as Dean Drake, Jr. flipped after being involved in a four-car crash.
Goodman was running in fourth on lap 17 when Passmore drove in too hard into turn three and bumped the rear of the defending champion. Goodman continued on but Passmore was forced to restart on the rear and could only work his way to tenth. But the finish was good enough to retain his series points lead.
